About This Place

Nestled in the heart of North Myrtle Beach, Umberto's at Barefoot Landing stands as a beacon of authentic Italian dining, celebrated for its generous portions and impeccable flavors. From the moment you step inside, the warm and inviting atmosphere sets the perfect backdrop for a memorable culinary experience, whether you’re enjoying an intimate dinner or celebrating with a larger group.

The restaurant’s menu is a treasure trove of Italian classics, thoughtfully crafted to delight every palate. Imagine starting your meal with the crispy Fried Provolone with Marinara, perfectly golden and oozing creamy cheese paired with a tangy, rich marinara sauce. Or indulge in the delicate Artichoke Francaise, where tender artichoke hearts are bathed in a lemony butter sauce, teasing your taste buds with each bite.

For the main course, Umberto’s truly shines. The Veal Antonio, a succulent cutlet stuffed with prosciutto and provolone, sautéed in white wine, garlic, lemon butter, and fresh mushrooms, bursts with layered flavors that harmonize beautifully. The Veal Umberto brings savory bites of tender veal cooked with artichokes and black olives, offering a balance of earthiness and zest that captivates the senses. Seafood lovers will find themselves drawn to the Shrimp Scampi, featuring jumbo shrimp succulent from a vibrant lemon-garlic sauce, or the Salmon Broiled with Seasoned Bread Crumbs, enhanced by a poached infusion of white wine and aromatic vegetables.

Regular guests rave about the massive, satisfying portions that practically ensure leftover indulgence—such as the thick, juicy pork chops or the tender veal steak that one reviewer described as possibly the best cut of meat they have ever eaten. Before your entree arrives, expect a hearty welcome of unlimited bread with butter, fresh salad composed of cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions, and a delightful beans and macaroni salad that perfectly primes the palate.

The dining experience at Umberto’s is more than just a meal; it’s a celebration of robust Italian flavors prepared with evident care and expertise. Guests often highlight the impeccable service—the staff’s attention to detail and warm hospitality heighten every visit, making you feel both welcomed and well-cared for.

Whether you’re craving a classic Chicken Parmigiana lauded as one of the best in the area, savoring the richness of Lasagna Bolognese, or exploring unique combinations like Shrimp Scampi Plus Veal Parmigiana, Umberto’s delivers an authentic Italian feast that invigorates the senses and feeds the soul. This is Italian cuisine served with passion, generosity, and a heartfelt commitment to quality—an absolute must-visit when in North Myrtle Beach.

Gianomous amount of portion! Unlimited bread butter, salad, beans, and marinara spaghetti as appetizer! The pork chop is incredibly thick and so does the veal steak!

Gluten free pasta was pretty good- definitely wasn’t corn based, probably rice. But when I asked about the ingredients the waiter said it changes often and he didn’t know and didn’t ask. But great value for price the portions are HUGE. Plus before your main entree you get bread, a salad (tomatoes, cucumber, onion), and some kind of bean salad with macaroni. PLUS angel hair pasta if you don’t get pasta as your main dish. Soooo many leftovers.

We took a group of 8 into Umbertos. It was incredible. The calamari and shrimp risotto were outstanding. The porterhouse veal chop might have been the best cut of meat I’ve ever eaten. The service was flawless.

I have walked by dozens of times over the years while on vacation but this was our first time at Umberto’s. Extremely happy with our meals, chicken parmigiana was one of the best I’ve ever had. The actual quality of the food was top notch! Atmosphere and service were also great. I will definitely be back!

Some of the best food in Myrtle Beach and the service is top notch! Had the veal T bone and it was crazy good. Come hungry because the portions are huge, we had leftovers for the next day. Can't wait to come back.

Great restaurant, and overall clean! I ordered Vodka Rigatonis with shrimp and Charbroiled N.Y strip steak, both orders were very delicious, and on point! As well the Italian bread given at the beginning was freshly baked and warm upon being served! A+

Service was impressively quick and our waiter was excellent, attentive without being overbearing. The food portions were generous and satisfying. We ordered the veal parmesan and chicken piccata, both of which were flavorful and well-prepared. The bread was outstanding, soft and fresh, and the beans and greens were a highlight. We even enjoyed it enough to take home a recipe, which was a nice touch. The only drawback was the limited beer selection. No draft beer was available, and there were no IPA options in cans, which was a bit disappointing given today’s craft beer trends. Overall: Great service, hearty and delicious Italian food, and warm hospitality. Just wish the drink menu had more variety. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4 out of 5 stars)
